Applied micro-econometrics. I have mainly worked with issues
of endogeneity in non-linear statistical models. Endogeneity is
often present in non-experimental data, which is frequently applied in social
sciences. This presents a problem if the aim of the statistical analysis is
to estimate causal effects of one variable upon another. A substantial part of my research
has been on effects of education, in particular in relation to
health and unemployment. This sheds light both on: - How educational attainment
affect the living conditions of the individual: if education related
differentials in health and unemployment can be interpreted causally, they
may be interpreted as a return to educational investments (on top of a
traditional pecuniary return). I have also conducted research
within labour economics and on the economics of ageing. For more details, check my list of publications. |
