The University of Southern Denmark
The University of Southern Denmark is the third largest university in Denmark with nearly 15,000 students, 6,000 full- or part-time employees and more than 50 varios subject areas to choose from. We have education and research in four cities: In Odense (on Funen) and in Kolding, Esbjerg and Sønderborg (all in Jutland).

In forming the University of Southern Denmark we have created a research and educational environment offering education at the highest academic level, and also functioning as a cooperation partner for public as well as private enterprises by supplying both research, know-how and highly qualified labour.

The over-all goals for the University of Southern Denmark are:

to establish an internationally oriented and regionally rooted university which through increased effort can enhance and strengthen the over-all performance within research and higher education in the region.

to create attractive and qualified research and educational environments in four towns - Odense, Kolding, Esbjerg and Sønderborg - by developing and emphasizing very distinct research and educational profiles on all campuses.

to develop and deploy a distinctive IT-profile which will be emphasized in particular subject areas, in teaching, in research, in documentation and in administration.

to make the university become an internationally interesting cooperation partner for universities and other institutions of higher education both within and outside the EU.

to create considerable growth in the supply of further and continuing education through an increase in the range of Open University courses (part-time courses) to strengthen the already well-established interaction between private and public enterprises in the regions.
